Photographer     Tel Aviv, Israel

Ravid Lander (born 1988) is a self-taught photographer hailing from Canada, presently rooted in Tel Aviv. His photographic portfolio orbits around individuals and their narratives, delving into notions of identity, affinity, and fragility. Concurrently practicing as a psychologist, Ravid perceives an interlacing of the two disciplines within his creative journey – a mutual yearning to introspect and observe, fostering empathy, comprehension, and resonance.

My creative focus revolves around individuals, their narratives, and their environments. I engage in extended, planned encounters with individuals sourced from chance street encounters or online connections, immersing myself in their authentic settings. These gatherings, spanning hours to days, foster genuine connections, yielding unforeseen artistic outcomes.

My work delves into the intricate interplay of physical and emotional spaces within our homes. As an immigrant from the age of 8, the concept of "home" has eluded me, both in terms of geography and emotional belonging. Over the past two years, I've intimately explored people's homes, gaining insight into their lives. Now, I aim to extend this project, delving into my father's immigrant journey and its profound influence on our family dynamics.
