Emi Iguchi is a Berlin-based photographer. Born in Tokyo, Japan, it served as her springboard into visual art and became a source of inspiration for her photography. As a teenager, she recalls seeing the bustling city with all its interesting people and feeling a strong desire to capture them through the lens. She pursued her education in photography in San Diego, USA, where she delved deeper into analog photography.

Most of my work is captured using analog cameras, and I have a deep fascination for analog photography, including hand-printing in the darkroom. When shooting with an analog camera, each captured image feels precious, adding an intentional aspect to the process for me. My photography style combines simplicity and strength, infused with a nostalgic charm. Through clean composition and a minimalist approach, my objective is to evoke feelings of nostalgia while maintaining a powerful visual impact.

I have a deep appreciation for people and their unique ways of expression. My desire to know and experience people is the driving force behind my photography. Each person is a mystery, and photography helps me to piece their stories together. It's all about celebrating what makes us unique throughout our lives.
