My style of work is often based on my own daydreams and this idealistic reality I have created a want for. My work contains a lot of subtle nods to Americana kitsch coming from my love of cinema. I shoot all of my work analogue, which captures a very raw and intimate moment as it is — something that can not be looked back on and altered until after the development process. It has been said to me that I often cast girls who resemble myself, which has since made me look inwards at how I subconsciously display my own thoughts and feelings through the girls I capture.
I want to capture how it feels to be a girl transitioning over to a young woman and how your mind is filled with endless fixations and daydreams of what you want to be or might become. My photography is often a constant reflection of what I have been hyper-fixating on at that moment.
