Laura López is a photographer and creative director based in Barcelona. Her work is inspired by daily life, her own experience, and above all, highly influenced by cinema and art. She focuses on themes of identity and often captures the subjects in moments of transition or waiting.

I'm interested in the intersection between reality and fiction. I like to explore the possibilities that image can offer in different ways and use that language as a way of expressing what I carry inside.

My starting point is always a certain experience. When I meet the subjects I'm going to photograph, I never know precisely how the image is going to look afterward. I let myself be guided by the encounter. When I film or photograph someone, people do things that I could never have imagined, and that’s why I prefer to give only very general directions so that they can fill in the rest themselves.
