Aitana Valencia

Aitana Valencia is a fashion photographer based in Madrid. She was born in Alicante but lived in many places across Spain. Since childhood, she has loved photography, documenting family trips and events. When Aitana turned seventeen, she moved to Madrid to study design. Soon after, she developed an interest in fashion photography and entered the EFTI (Madrid). She now works as a freelance photographer and teaches at EFTI.

Adolescence is a subject that is very close and important to me. A theme that often comes up in my work is the feeling of being lost, the innocence and taboos in trying to discover yourself. Most likely, my work is a constant attempt to speak and capture eternal youth, an endeavor to freeze time.

‘My work usually has similar light, casting, and acting in each project. Models can be smiling, bored, pretending to be someone else, eating, or doing nothing, but I tend to like it when they are behaving naturally on set.’
